Dear students,

Microsoft is offering Windows 7 Professional Edition (x86) and (x64) for MSDNAA members for FREE.

It’s recommended to check Windows 7 System Requirements before downloading:

If you have an MSDNAA account, you can start downloading directly (Alexandria University Only):

Then press ‘Add to Cart’ button, and continue logging in. That’s it.

If you do NOT have an MSDNAA account, get a copy of your academic ID (a recent one) and send it to one of the MSPs (Microsoft Student Partners) in your university. You will get your account very quickly!

The IT industry increasingly requires students to enter companies with real-life, hands-on experience, as well as deep theoretical background.

The S2B program makes that possible through internships with Microsoft in association with  top IT Companies - internships that provide relevant work experience on innovative projects that greatly enhance students’ value in the job market. In collaboration with universities, students will have access to online training, workshops or courses as part of their degree.

As well, students will have access to many Microsoft applications through the MSDN AA Program, in order to provide the tools students need to be immediately productive in a company.

Projects and training will be focused on the most recent and innovative Microsoft products and technologies.

Therefore , I encourage you to all go and register NOW in www.s2bprogram.com/mea

MSN Messenger version 2009

January 9th, 2009 by Ahmadz

msnmessenger

Hi Guys,

Today I got the update email from Live Team announcing the new MSN Messenger version 2009.
Once I got it, I downloaded and installed it. It looks more simple compared to the previous version although it has many graphics.

I think the interface designers are very smart; for example, in chat window, you can find the display picture of you and the other contact surrounded by a color representing your and his/her current status. (i.e. yours is surrounded by green if you’re available and his/hers is red if he/she is busy)

In addition, at the lower corner, you find the panel “What’s new”; this panel displays all updates regarding your contacts’ personal messages and display pictures that have been done even when you were offline!

It’s totally new and I like it more than any version before!

Thanks

‘Halo 3′ nets biggest day in entertainment history

September 28th, 2007 by Ahmadz

Halo 3, the much-anticipated Xbox 360 game that launched Tuesday, set the all-time record for most revenue earned in a single day by any entertainment property, Microsoft said Wednesday.

The company said that Halo 3, the third and final episode in the hugely popular franchise, netted $170 million in sales in the U.S. in its first day. If true, that would top previous records set by the motion pictures Spider Man 3 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

There’s little doubt Microsoft has been pinning a great deal of hope on Halo 3 and was expecting it to be the must-have game for the Xbox 360, much as the original Halo was for the original Xbox when it came out in 2001. The theory is that many consumers will buy Xbox 360s to play the new game, though only time will tell if that is true. Microsoft did not release any new figures on immediate Xbox sales.

Judging by initial reviews, the game is being very well received critically, in addition to racking up the big bucks.

According to Microsoft, more than a million players have logged on to Xbox Live to play the multiplayer version of the new game, since it came out and all told, it has garnered more than 1.7 million preorders.

The game sells for $59.99.

Google In Egypt

June 10th, 2007 by Ahmadz

I was wondering why Google doesn’t have a branch in my lovely Egypt ?!!!!

I found that it’s an old issue somehow. I found many article says that Google decided - at June 2006 - to open its Middle East Regional Office in EGYPT. The country manager for Google Egypt is Sherif Iskander. I quote this paragraph from Stravinsky’s Sizzlin’ Shack blog:

"Most of us Google fans in the Middle East and much of the Arab world always thought that Google would be launching their regional office in Dubai, but the leader in the search engine industry worldwide has looked way past the hyped-gorgeous city of buildings and have decided to base their Middle East regional office in Egypt. Google Israel already has a RnD lab for the region in Haifa and it looks like their marketing and sales operations for the rest of the Middle East will be located in Cairo."

Google Egypt still has available positions to hire, here is the list:

Positions available in Egypt:

More article about this issue can be found here:

It’s really excellent news even I have known so late. I want to end the post with this funny photo
